Becky Bates
Becky has been training horses and riders on the local and "A" circuit for 40 years. After starting her professional career in her 20's in Chicago, Becky moved to the Buffalo area and rode with many prominent trainers. She then bought Quakerfield Stables and started a very successful lesson and training facility. In the late 1970's, Becky purchased the beautiful Hasty Hills Farm. At Hasty Hills, she could continue her great lesson and show facility as well as having the space to develop nice, young horses.
Great pride is taken in her riders, making them feel and perform the best that they can. Becky's students have qualified and competed at the equitation finals, pony finals, junior hunter finals and had many other accomplishments.
In addition to her ability to develop talent in riders, Becky is also widely known for starting the careers of horses in a very correct and productive manner. Whether training for the show ring, the race track, or as a pleasure horse - each horse learns the proper fundementals to do its job properly... and to enjoy it! These days, Becky and Jaime start dozens of horses a year and train, show, and sell many others. Becky has been starting young horses for over 35 years.
The atmosphere at Hasty Hills is one of strong horsemanship, safety, and fun experiences. She welcomes every type of equestrian, no matter what their background may be. Becky Bates has developed her business and farm into one of the finest in Western NY and takes great pride in that fact.
Becky is now taking students for the upcoming show season. Please contact us for more details!
Jaime is an accomplished hunter and jumper rider who specializes in bringing young horses along, both for showing and sales. Daughter of professional horsemen, she has spent her whole life working with horses and living the "farm lifestyle". After a very successful junior career, which included qualifying and showing at Medal and Maclay finals, Jaime turned professional and began working for Becky at Hasty Hills. Together, they have started, trained, shown, and sold hundreds of horses.
Although she mainly focuses on bringing young sales horses through the ranks, Jaime has also qualified and shown horses at Devon and qualified for Indoors. Working with riders and teaching is also a passion, as she works along side Becky as the assistant trainer.
Jaime is also a very popular catch rider in Western New York, having ridden countless times for almost every barn in the area. Once quoted saying, "I like to have the the chance to make a bad horse better and a good horse great", this business is truly a passion for the horseman. Jaime is now accepting clients and sales horses for the upcoming season.
